The Randolph Metrocom is part of the San Antonio metropolitan area that generally is on
the edge of the Gulf Coastal Plains and influenced by a modified subtropical climate.
While the summer is hot, with daily temperatures above 90 degrees over 80 percent of
the time, extremely high temperatures are rare. Mild weather prevails during much of
the winter. Below freezing temperatures occur on an average of only about 20 days a
year.
We are also home of Randolph Air Force Base,
the "Showplace of the Air Force" dedicated June 20, 1930.
